Teen Titans: The Judas Contract Review
Recently just finished watching Teen Titans: The Judas
Contract , great movie as expected. DC's live action movies (and by that I mean
their DCEU) just can't seem to do well, the movies that have come out so far
have been very poorly made and disappointing, but we will talk more about that
in future posts. What DC does have going for it are its live action TV shows
(Arrow and Flash) and its animated movies. The animated movies are all in
the same universe starting with either Flashpoint or Justice League War, either
way they've done a much better job of world building. The animation is superb
and the stories are fantastic, I particularly love the way they use after
credit scenes to set up the next film. It seems that whoever is handling the
animation department is clearly much more competent than the WB studio heads.
They just have to listen to fans and things will get better, kinda like how
they are bringing back Young Justice. Any way here is the review.
Review
As I said the movie is great as
expected. It starts with a flashback to five years ago and shows a different
Titans team, very cool to watch and almost felt like I was watching a mix of
Young Justice and the old Teen Titans show (not TTG that piece of shit).
We get to see the return of
Deathstroke, an awesome villian, plus it explains how he got stronger and why
he hates the Titans. I think it was also really cool how he took out most of
the Titans through strategy rather than brute force because that has always
been Slade's strength- his brain. Even without powers he is able to take down
most Titans, you can tell in particular he hated Damian and Dick lol. Speaking
of Damian I think I'm beginning to like him slightly more, I know everybody
hated him for being a spoiled brat just like how Slade calls him out on it
(pretty funny in this movie by the way). The characters are all likeable and
you get to see their struggles/personalities, Terra is the only one I disliked
which I think is how they meant it.
You get to kind of see how
Brother Blood from Hive brainwashed his followers to use them and how that is
mirrored in how Slade brainwashed and used Terra. You do sympathize with her,
but in the end it is very hard to feel sorry for her after what she did. All
around cool fights, cool characters, kevin smith cameo etc... the ending with
Donna Troy joing the team was cool and the after credits teasing Jericho was
also really awesome.
Girls
Man Starfire is hot. Like I
think everybody has been wanting to see her since Son of Batman where we only
hear Dick talking to her, but when he says "You're wearing what? ...The red one, with the lace...AND the thong?!" man I got hard just hearing him describe it... We next get to hear her voice in Batman Bad Blood where she says "Its been
weeks Dick, I've almost forgot what you feel like..." Then I believe we
finally got to see what she looks like in Justice League vs Teen Titans man its
like they were teasing us... Yeah had some hot moments in their when shes in a
bathrobe, talking, etc... so many suggestive moments. But that doesn't even
compare to seeing her in this movie...
Where do I even begin? First off we get to see her in her old outfit the one that shows off her ass.There are definitely much more fan service moments and nearly every scene with her and Dick they make sexually charged / suggestive comments. I wish we could see more of her though- like the outfit that shows cleavage is nice, but the skirt covers her butt and her street clothes are nice but don’t show off much either. I really wish we could have seen her in the lingerie she talks about in Son of Batman. I guess the new 52 version of her in the comics was a good substitute, but I’d still like to see more of her in animated form. Like I really wanna see a hentai of her that is the same level of animation as these movies…
